This is another very restless species, usually seen in places where brambles lay thick, and I have found it usually rests well out of thorny reach. One has to be fortunate to get a good butterfly photograph.
Quite like the next species although larger, the hindwing underside, with the partly shaded post- discal yellow region in S4, is definitive, being wholy yellow in the following species.
